Puerto Rico
A Caribbean island getaway that is perfect for those less travelled and perhaps worried about language barriers or getting out of their comfort zones in North America.
Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, where apparently many ex-pats live. Spanish and English are both official languages here. Although Spanish is the most dominant it is easy to get around without understanding it.
Of course, you want to learn some basic words, but you usually find English signs, menus, and people who speak a little to very fluent English.
Driving is just like driving around in Canada or the USA. We rented a car and felt comfortable driving around.
Posts covering my travels around Puerto Rico can be found on my Facebook Page, the platform I previously used to blog.
