Lalapalooza does not disappoint!

I can't visit Chicago during one of the world's biggest music festivals and not dive in. Today was all about the music, and there was plenty of it. The festival park sprawls with stages, booths, and people everywhere.

I spent my time soaking in the performances of singers, bands, and the young crowd. Being surrounded by happy people out for a good time is my kind of vibe, especially at such a vibrant and dynamic event.

As the day progressed and the crowd expanded, so did the energy—and occasionally, the need for first aid. It was a scorching 32 degrees today with no breeze in the so-called Windy City. Some couldn't handle the heat and their choice of beverages and what nots very well.

My favorite acts were Teddy Swims, Pierce the Veil, and Blink-182. I was surprised at how popular Blink-182 still is with today's youth; they delivered an explosive final show.

There were a few people my age, but not many. Not wanting to become tomorrow's headline—"old lady trampled by young crowd!"—I went for a VIP ticket. It was a smart move. I got close to the stage and had a prime spot along the center aisle barrier for people-watching. All the big names with backstage access or other performers strolled by here—some with bodyguards, some posing for their social media, and some just regular folks. I'm out of touch and didn't recognize many,  but fans' reactions entertained me; sometimes, girls were brought to tears as their famous idol walked by. It was a fun day, and I'm glad I experienced it without being trampled in the crowd.
