Our days spent at Amber River Lodge have been absolutely amazing.

Every outing left me in awe of this magical place. The landscape and wildlife are spectacular, constantly offering up amazing sights and sounds.

We would head out before sunrise in search of the nocturnal animals heading into the bushes for the day, spend the day mesmerized by the symbiotic way every plant and animal exists, and continue the search for nocturnal animals again in the evening.

It was unique, calming, exciting, and peaceful, actually not that peaceful. There was a resident hippo who liked to make a lot of noise and take noisy swims at night.

Sometimes, the roar of the lion or other loud and strange animal sounds I couldn't explain would also wake me up. But that’s okay, as it was a wonderful way and place to be woken up.
