Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater
Our last couple of days brought us to Kubu Kubu Tented Camp, located in central Serengeti, as well as Lion's Paw at Ngorongoro Crater.
Along the way, we stopped to visit a Maasai boma, where we learned a little about their warrior culture. The chief here has four wives and 26 children. We are welcomed into their village, where they had some of us, Norm included, dance with them. They showed us how they start their fires and allowed us to enter their mud homes. It was a very interesting visit.
Our final safari trek is touring within the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater. We left early, only to have an elephant block our exit in the driveway while he ripped the bark off a tree. After some time he finally decided to move a long, and we could pass.
Driving in the crater is beautiful and, serene and peaceful. It feels like it's a current-day Jurassic Park where we spotted some black Rhinos, completing our Serengeti big five spottings.
It has been an incredible adventure with Kellie Paxian from Adventurelust.Travel, Buutu Safaris in Uganda and Chasing Dreams Safaris in Tanzania. I leave Africa with many fond memories, exciting stories, and new friendships. Thanks to everyone who joined along on another excellent bucket list vacation!
Now we fly home to enjoy Christmas with friends and family and plan our next getaway.
