Barcelona, Spain

View of Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain, has been a center for art and architecture since the late 1800s. Many famous artists have lived in Barcelona, including Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and architect Antoni Gaudi, who designed some of Barcelona's most iconic buildings.

Now, for a few days, Barcelona is the center of our attention as we tour this fabulous, vibrant city.

Norm and I arrived this morning and spent the afternoon on a hop-on-hop-off bus, touring the city.  The architecture here is quite diverse, with many historical buildings showcasing their uniqueness across the eras of architectural trends. Most noted are the works of the famed architect Gaudi.

For a view of the city, we hopped off at the art gallery. I quite enjoyed visiting the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC). It is one of the most beautiful museums I have visited, and beautifully curated.

In the evening, we strolled along the harbour and enjoyed dinner alongside impressive yaughts, wrapping up a relaxing first day in Spain.

The lighting in the gallery is stunning
