Climb, Ride, Beach
Over the past two days, El Nido has continued to been our home. We began yesterday with a canopy walk, to enjoy the breathtaking view of our bay. Following this, we strolled the entirety of Corong Corong Beach – a walk that was lengthy and draining in the heat, but still interesting.
To rest from the long walk we enjoyed some well-deserved RnR on the beach by our room, a delightful dinner, and a rejuvenating massage session.
Today we rented a scooter, and rode out to the Nacpan Beach. Renowned for its pristine yellow sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush green landscape. It's often referred to as one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
We enjoyed lunch on the beach, rented lounge chairs to relax on, walked in the wet sand (the dry sand was hot) and swam in the warm ocean. We also chatted with a Filipino family from Ottawa. The parents were showing their two grown children the beauty of their homeland. We have actually met several Filipino Canadians visiting their homeland.
Further up the coast, we explored Duli Beach, a hotspot for surfing enthusiasts.
We had a drink there and walked along the beach to watch a couple surfer's trying to catch a wave, on a very calm surf day.
When we left, Norm looked at the gas gage and saw 4 bars. Good to go. Well that's what he thought. Apparently the 4 bars were empty bars, so 10 to minutes into our ride back we ran out of gas.
Official gas stations can be far apart, but thankfully there are often make shift gas stations where people sell gas out of bottles. Luckily we just passed one before running out of gas.
So we pushed the scooter, which is much lighter than Norms BMW, back to the mini station to add some gas, and off we went.
Back at the room, we freshened up and went out for our last dinner and walk in El Nido. Tomorrow we ferry to Coron.
